This kit was a little bit nicer to build than the P-35, but again has a sparse interior.  The tailwheel was also too "long" and the plastic too week (fixed with a little patience and putty. =])
The aircraft modelled (no markings available on it yet) is for the squadron leader's aircraft (#69) of the 27th Pursuit Squadron, 1st Pursuit Group, and is modelled as a P-36c.  The paint scheme is what really inspired me to model this one - until shortly before our involvement in WWII, typical AAF practice was to use water-based paints to temporarily camoflauge aircraft, though finally a countershaded Olive Drab over Neutral Grey was accepted.  This aircraft is painted in an experimental scheme used ONLY at the 1939 Cleveland Air Races. (For more interesting schemes on other aircraft, track down Squadron/Signals Air Force Colors, Volume 1 - 1926-1942 by Dana Bell.  ISBN 0-89747-091-5)  Very interesting, with some almost-never modelled types.  Use some of the schemes in that book to liven up that Brown/Green/Grey collection of models. <g>had
